Police: 9 vans stolen since July in east Greenville
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Greenville police said Tuesday they are investigating the theft of nine vans since July on the city's east side.
Police said the crime spree began on July 13 at a home on Townes Creek Court. The most recent theft happened on Sept. 18 at a home on Cross Club Drive.
Investigators said they believe the same person is responsible for the crimes. They said it appears that in all the cases the thief broke the door handles to gain access to the vehicle and then hot-wired it.
Police said residents in the area should ensure their vehicles are locked and parked in a well lit area.
Anyone with information about the thefts was asked to call Greenville Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
