SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman was killed in a crash along southbound Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County Wednesday morning, troopers said.

There were two back-to-back crashes involving three cars about 6:20 a.m. near mile marker 75, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said in the first crash a man rear-ended a woman's car as she slowed for debris in the roadway, spinning her car into the median facing oncoming traffic.

Neither driver was injured in the first crash, troopers said.

Minutes later, the female driver got out of her car to check on the other driver, and as she stepped into the roadway, a third car hit and killed her, troopers said.

The driver of the car that hit the woman was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Troopers said the driver of the car that initially rear-ended the woman was arrested and charged with not having a South Carolina driver's license and following too closely.

Troopers identified him as 25-year-old Cayetano Hernandez of Greenville. He was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

The Spartanburg County Coroner's investigator identified the pedestrian as 20-year-old Campobello resident Inna Malamura. He said she was on her way home from work when the crash happened.
