Good morning! FOG is the word across parts of the viewing area this morning - we have some dense fog around Clemson, Franklin and Asheville this morning. Make sure you use your fog lights and slow down between now and 9-10 AM. Beyond that point, the fog should have lifted and should no longer be a problem.
Highs today will continue their warming trend - as we rise a few degrees above-normal this afternoon. Upstate towns will top out in the low to mid 80s, while WNC locations will notice highs in the upper 70s. Most of the area will stay dry under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies, but an isolated PM shower or t-storm is possible in the higher elevations of WNC this afternoon.
We'll keep that isolated shower/storm chance on Thursday and Friday afternoons (in the Mountains only), with hotter temperatures coming for the end of the week. Upstate highs will hit the mid (and perhaps some upper) 80s, while WNC highs will rise into the low 80s.
The weekend will bring a return to 'normalcy' on thermometers, and will also bring rain chances back to the area. At this point, Sunday looks to be the soggier of the two days, especially in the Upstate. We'll watch the models for early next week - at this point they keep a rain-making system closer to the coast, but any westward shift in that could make us reach for our umbrellas.
