GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said they arrested seven people in connection with more than 16 car break-ins, including the theft of a Greenwood police officer's weapons and other gear earlier in September.
Greenwood County deputies said they arrested Jamaal Byers, 20, Antonio Morton, 20, and Demarcus Henderson, 21, along with four juveniles earlier in the week in connection with the thefts in the areas of Pucketts Ferry Community off of Highway 246, Haltiwanger Road and off of Highway 254.
Deputies said all of the vehicles were unlocked, including a Greenwood police patrol car, when they were broken into.

On Monday, deputies along with SWAT officers were called to the Georgetown Apartments on E. Northside Drive to assist with an investigation where Byers, Morton and Henderson were found.
Greenwood County Sheriff Tony Davis said all of the items stolen from the officer's car were recovered except an AR-15 rifle. Davis said anyone who has the weapon or knows where this gun is needs to turn it in.
Davis said their deputies have been instructed to always remove their weapons from their patrol vehicles and lock them.
The three men appeared before a judge on Tuesday where their bonds were set.
Deputies said they were still looking for three suspects in connection with the break-ins.
