Anderson County deputies identified two men Wednesday who are wanted in connection with a violent attempted robbery at a restaurant last week.
The robbery happened about 5:40 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Waffle House restaurant on Highway 28 Bypass.
Deputies said that two men, covering their heads with shirts, walked into the restaurant and ordered everyone to get on the floor. They said one of the men, who was armed with a shotgun, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded she open the cash register. They said that when the employee told the armed man she did not know how to open the register, the man fired a single shot. The pair then fled the scene, deputies said.
A day later, deputies released photos taken by security cameras at the restaurant. The photos showed a man with a red shirt pulled over his head pointing a shot gun. Another man is seen in the images, dressed in a dark-colored shirt with a light-colored shirt tied around his head and wearing gloves.
On Wednesday, deputies said they issued warrants for the arrests of 20-year-old Zedrick Ramsey and 30-year-old Carlos Scott in connection with the attempted robbery. They said both men are considered armed and dangerous.
Deputies asked anyone with information on either Ramsey's or Scott's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
