GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said they are looking for a man who tried to shoplift thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a department store in Haywood Mall.

Jonathan Bragg, spokesperson for the Greenville Police Department, said on Sept. 17 the man stuffed cologne and jewelry into a black bag. He said the total value of the items was more than $2,200.

After walking out of the store without paying for the goods, Bragg said the man was approached by two employees. The man then threw the bag at them and ran from the scene, Bragg said.

The man has not been identified. If you have any information that could help investigators with this case, call Greenville Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
