WARE SHOALS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said someone stole items and gear belonging to Southside Christian School's football players during their game at Ware Shoals High School on Friday.

Ware Shoals police were notified on Sept. 21 by Southside's athletic director that items belonging to the team were taken from Ware Shoals' gym, which Southside was using as a dressing room the night of the game.

Police said there was a trail of dropped items from the gym to the parking lot and surveillance video showed three suspects on three different trips taking stuff from the gym.

One of the players whose cell phone was stolen had a GPS tracker on, and police were able to locate it at a home in Ware Shoals.

Police said they were able to locate and identify the suspects at the home and they told them that they were involved in the burglary and had thrown the stuff under the bridge along W. Main Street.

Officers found some of the stolen items in the river and under the bridge, including several blue Southside Christian School bags, cleats and other school gear.

Police said they arrested two of the suspects but were unable to locate the third.
