GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

On Friday, Greer police released a sketch of a man they said followed a woman home last month and then pretended to be a law enforcement agent.

Police said that about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 22, the woman had pulled into the parking lot of the Bradford Apartments on Poinsett Street. She said a white Chevrolet Tahoe followed her vehicle into the parking lot.

The woman told police that when she parked near her apartment, a man approached her, called to her, showed a star-shaped badge and said he was with the State Law Enforcement Division.

The woman said she did not get out of her car and called her husband to come outside, according to the police report. The report said when her husband walked outside, he said the man showed his badge and said he was a deputy.

The man eventually left in the white Tahoe, police said.

The man was described as a white, about 6' tall and 200 pounds, with brown hair. He was wearing cream-colored pants and a teal T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Greer Police Department at 864-848-2151.
