For history enthusiasts or families looking for something different to do this weekend, several Upstate battlefields are hosting a "Revolutionary" weekend.

Friday through Sunday, Upstate Revolutionary War Weekend will be held at several Revolutionary War locations.

The Walnut Grove Plantation in Roebuck is hosting a full display of battles and events featuring more than 150 Revolutionary War re-enactors during FestiFall.

At the Cowpens National Battlefield in Chesnee, they will be a drama called The Night Before Kings Mountain that will showcase the days before the Revolutionary War Battle of Kings Mountain.

On Sunday, Kings Mountain National Military Park in Blacksburg will have a wreath laying ceremony to honor those who fell in the Battle of Kings Mountain.

A variety of events will be held throughout the day, including musket and rifle demonstrations as well as children's militia drills.
