TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Rumors of a gun being brought to Travelers Rest High School prompted an increased police presence at the school Monday.
Oby Lyles, spokesman for Greenville County Schools, said there was a fight at the school Friday and again at a football game that night. He said that after the two fights, rumors began circulating that a gun would be brought to the school Monday.
Lyles said that additional law enforcement was present at the school Monday as a precaution. He said no gun has been found at the school and the school has not been locked down.
A student was suspended Monday morning after he showed a knife to other students on a school bus, Lyles said.
