FRANKLIN, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Some Macon County homeowners may be more at ease after four teenagers were arrested in connection with a ring of burglaries, deputies said.

Macon County deputies have been investigating thefts at five homes that were only lived in part-time by the homeowners.

The suspects visited the homes several times before breaking in, deputies said. All of the homes were unoccupied during the burglaries, and one of the thefts involved a stolen tractor that was recovered in Georgia, investigators said.

Deputies said Crime Stoppers tips along with other investigations led to the arrests of Joshua Smith, 19; Sandra McCormick, 18; Nathan Humphries, 19; and Morgan Cowart, 17, all of Franklin. They each face various charges including second-degree burglary and possession of stolen goods.

Deputies said their investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible. Deputies have also been in contact with the Haywood County Sheriff's Office about additional crimes in their area.

"We believe there are other homes broken into that have not yet been discovered and encourage residents to be good neighbors by checking on their neighbor's homes and reporting anything suspicious to law enforcement," said Sheriff Robert L. Holland.

Anyone with information on any other thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-349-2152.
