SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said Tuesday they filed more charges against the suspect in a series of attacks on women last month.

On Sept. 25, deputies charged Rodney Davis Jr., 19, of Chesnee, with criminal sexual conduct first degree and burglary first degree.

The charges were related to an assault that happened Aug. 17 at the Newport Apartments on Jeff Davis Drive. A woman told deputies that she answered a knock at her door and a man forced his way into her home and sexually assaulted her.

About a week later, deputies released a sketch of the man who they believed was responsible for the crime.

Two other attacks in Spartanburg County involved women being approached by a man, who tried to kidnap them, deputies said. On Tuesday, deputies charged Davis with petit larceny, two counts of kidnapping, carjacking, pointing and presenting a firearm and obtaining under false pretense, in connection with those crimes.

Investigators said they believe Davis is connected to a similar attack in Cherokee County on Sept. 17. He has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with that crime.
