Deputies said they were tipped off that Dorman High School students were buying beer at a Spartanburg store, which led to a clerk's arrest.

Spartanburg County deputies said they were notified students were buying beer at the Pure Station located at 3530 South Church St. in preparation for Farmers Day on Friday.

According to the sheriff's office report, deputies sent in an underage confidential informant to try and buy a six-pack of Bud Light.

The store's clerk sold the 17-year-old the beer without checking the ID.

The clerk, 54-year-old Salil Amin, was arrested and charged with sale of beer to a person under 21.
