AS | ARTISTS STUDIOS is a filtered database of the strongest non-represented art in New York, NY and Paris, France vis-à-vis New York City. Founded in September 2011 by Jill Conner and Megan M. Garwood, AS | ARTISTS STUDIOS seeks to create an online space in which one can view art that is less accessible than art created by represented artists.
The AS | Archive provides visitors with information about each artist, updated images of artwork in the studio, and direct contact with the artist. AS | ARTISTS STUDIOS is committed to in-person studio visits.
Since launching, AS | ARTISTS STUDIOS now features the work of over 100 artists. In June 2012, AS | Artist Vicki DaSilva won "Art Takes Times Square" - a competition which exhibited her work on the light billboards of Times Square at night through the month of July. AS | Artist Mark Sengbusch is now exhibiting 4 pieces in "Intersections" at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Within 1 year, AS | Artists have had 29 solo shows and 55 group shows including ample coverage in sources such as The New York Times, ARTFORUM and The New Criterion.
