Happy Friday! We have some areas of fog to watch for this morning, but overall we have a nice, sunny end to the week on tap. Temperatures will stay on the warm side, as highs will be a few degrees above-normal this afternoon. Upstate highs will reach the low 80s, while WNC temperatures will peak in the mid/upper 70s.
A cold front will cross our area late Saturday and early Sunday, bringing some shower chances to the area. On Saturday, expect increasing cloud cover - with an isolated shower possible late in the Upstate. Mountain areas will see scattered PM showers on Saturday, so you're more likely to need the umbrella in the WNC territory. Showers will stay in the Mountains during the day Sunday - while most Upstate areas will only see a spotty shower at best. Everyone will be mostly cloudy for the end of the weekend.
The rain chances won't be the big "effect" of this front - instead, it will usher in some MUCH cooler air. Saturday highs will stay on the mild side, reaching the low 80s in the Upstate and the low 70s in WNC. By Sunday, temperatures will have plummeted 10-15 degrees - with highs only rising into the upper 50s in WNC and the upper 60s in the Upstate.
Temperatures stay below-normal through most of next week, and those morning temps will absolutely be "coat-worthy" - in the mid 40s early Monday and Tuesday in the Upstate and in the upper 30s and low 40s in the Mountains!!
