Motorcyclist killed on way to school

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Investigators said an Anderson man was killed in a crash while on his way to class at Tri-County Tech on Thursday.

Troopers said the crash happened on Lebanon Road around 5:30 p.m.

An SUV was turning left off Lebanon Road into a driveway when it turned in front of, and was hit by, the motorcycle.

The coroner said the motorcyclist, 28-year-old Joseph Coffin, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Coffin was wearing a helmet and the driver of the SUV was not injured, troopers said.

The Highway Patrol says the crash is still under investigation.
