School bus driver ticketed in Pickens Co. crash

LIBERTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Pickens County school bus driver was ticketed after her bus crashed Friday afternoon.

The crash happened about noon near the intersection of Winding Creek Road and Wishing Well Lane.

Troopers said the bus driver ran off the right side of the road and then hit a telephone pole, a fence and a tree before it came to a stop.

The driver was trapped in the bus after the crash. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

School district officials said no children were aboard at the time of the crash.

The driver of the bus was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
