Police: Elderly man shoots neighbor

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police said they arrested an elderly man accused of shooting his neighbor in the leg Friday.

Someone call 911 at 3:38 p.m. Friday after the victim was found lying along London Road near Wyatt Street in Asheville.

Police said when they arrived, the victim's wife was driving him to meet an ambulance.

Following their investigation, police arrested and charged 79-year-old Clarence Buckner with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

According to the incident report, the victim and Buckner are neighbors. Police did not release information about what led to the shooting.
