GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Gas prices in the Greenville area were virtually flat from last week, according to GasBuddy.com.
The price-tracking website reported Monday that the average price for a gallon of gas in the Greenville area was at $3.41 - up less than a penny from last week. The national average of $3.80 per gallon was also less than one cent higher than last week.
Locally, the price was 13.9 cents lower than last month, but 33 cents higher than last year. Nationally, the price was 1.3 cents less than last month and 37.2 cents more than last year.
Experts said that gas prices will likely remain steady for the week.
"Around the rest of the nation I expect a mixed bag, with prices not moving significantly in either direction from what I can see at this time," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.
AAA reported that average cost for a gallon of gas was at $3.48 in South Carolina, $3.71 in North Carolina and $3.57 in Georgia.
According to GasBuddy.com, South Carolina still has the cheapest gas in the country, while California has the most expensive.
