Henderson County deputies said they arrested a Hendersonville man Tuesday who is accused of sexually abusing two girls.

Deputies said that a girl recently came forward and said that she was sexually assaulted by 50-year-old Richard Serena. They said after an investigation, Serena was arrested and charged with indecent liberties, crime against nature and second-degree sexual offense. He was released from jail on $22,000 bond.

Investigators said Serena was arrested in May and charged with indecent liberties with a minor after a girl's parents told them that Serena sexually abused their daughter. He was released from jail on $4,000 bond.

Deputies said that Serena also pleaded no contest to aggravated sexual battery in Tennessee in 1987. They said Serena was not registered as a sex offender in that case because the registry did not exist at the time.
