WELLFORD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said they were searching a wooded area in Wellford after two men were seen fleeing a home after a burglary.

The break-in happened at 11:35 a.m. at a home in the 300 block of Charter Oak Circle near Highway 129.

Lt. Tony Ivey, of the sheriff's office, said arriving deputies noticed two men fleeing the home into some nearby woods. He said the deputies then set up a perimeter and began searching for the men.

Ivey said deputies are using search dogs and a helicopter in an effort to find the men. After two hours, the search was called off without the men being found, he said.

Anyone with information about the break-in or the two men who were seen fleeing the area were asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
