EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate man said he witnessed a miracle when his wife gave birth to the family's first daughter in a familiar, yet unexpected, place.

Clayton Holder quickly pulled up to the emergency room at Baptist Easley Hospital early Thursday morning with his pregnant wife in the passenger seat ready to give birth.

"When I looked at the alarm at the house where we actually left the house it said 3:05 a.m.," he said. "My wife kept screaming, 'I feel its head, I feel its head,'" Holder said.

He said he looked out of his car window and saw Anna Stegall, the emergency room department coordinator, near the entrance.

"I thought this could be a fast delivery," Stegall said.

And while she prepared to help the Holders, Kari Craven, a patient care technician, grabbed the Holders' three sons.

"I had one boy on each hip," Craven said. "They were pretty cool, calm and collected."

But it was Holder who couldn't catch his breath. That's because in the front seat of his car, in the breezeway of the ER, a miracle was taking place.

"They pronounced the birth and it was 3:17 a.m.," Clayton Holder said.

So, on Oct. 11, which some call a day of lucky numbers because it's 10-11-12, little Joanna Holder was born. And her father said it took no time for her to get here.

"It was right at 12 minutes," Clayton Holder said.

Joanna's big brother, Jake Holder, had a lot to say about his sister's arrival.

"I said, 'Why does it have to be on a cold day?'" Jake said.

He's 5 years old and promises to be a good big brother.

Little Joanna has now captured the hearts of those who helped deliver her.

"The first cry, when she came out that was just, you know, she's healthy baby," Stegall said.

And that's what matters to the Holder family.

"It's just a blessing, it's a gift from God and we don't take it lightly," Clayton Holder said.
