TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Highway patrol troopers are investigating a fatal crash in Travelers Rest.

Troopers said a motorcycle was hit by a car in front of a Sunoco fuel station on U.S. 25 North and North Speer Road on Saturday evening.

Coroner Kent Dill said 50-year-old Lyle Torbenson of Zirconia, NC, was the driver of the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a car that was pulling out of a parking lot.

Dill said Torbenson was riding with his wife, 55-year-old Susan Torbenson, who was taken to Greenville Memorial with injuries.

Dill said she died early Sunday morning from her injuries.

Troopers said the driver and the passenger of the car involved were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
