A Seneca man was charged Tuesday in connection with the death of his 7-month-old niece.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Amy Stashluk was admitted to the intensive care unit at Greenville Memorial Hospital early Sunday morning. She died at 9:34 p.m. Monday.
Addis said an ambulance was called to the home of 26-year-old Mckenzie Turner, the girl's uncle, after a caller said the child was not breathing.
According to an arrest warrant, Turner dropped and shook the baby, inflicting a traumatic injury to the girl.
Turner was charged with homicide by child abuse. He is being held in the county jail without bond.
