Anderson police mill about the scene of a shooting. (Oct. 16, 2012/FOX Carolina)ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A man was shot in the chest near an Anderson apartment complex Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. on Zeno Street.
Sgt. David Creamer, of the Anderson Police Department, said the victim, Dedrick Reshard Mayfield, told police he was walking along Zeno Street when he heard three gunshots.
He said the man then walked to Friendship Court Apartments, where he asked someone to call 911. Creamer said the victim believed two men dressed in black were responsible for the shooting. He said police are looking for the gunmen.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was standing and able to talk to police when they arrived on scene.
