Police said they pulled over a car speeding through a school zone and discovered the passenger was wanted on five warrants as a part of Operation Dragnet on Wednesday.
Spartanburg police said an officer was monitoring a school zone near Jesse Bobo Elementary School about 3 p.m. Wednesday when a driver went by at about 44 mph.
The officer said he noticed a passenger in the car wasn't wearing a seatbelt, so police pulled the driver over for the two violations, according to a police report.
When the officer spoke to the passenger and asked for his ID, police said the man gave false information at first before ultimately identifying himself correctly.
Police said the man was wanted on five outstanding failure to comply warrants in Spartanburg County. They said they cited him for giving false information and a seatbelt violation while ticketing the driver for speeding in a school zone.
