SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said two people were killed in a house fire on Sunnyview Drive early Friday morning.

Crews shut down the area as Oconee County firefighters investigated what sparked the blaze. The State Law Enforcement Division is also investigating the fire, which is protocol with fires involving death.
Addis said Patsy Smith was found collapsed in the hallway while her husband was next to his bed. Autopsies confirmed the Smiths died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning due to smoke inhalation sustained in the house fire.
The Red Cross was at the house providing assistance to firefighters and those at the scene.
