SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting of a woman who was found lying along a road in Spartanburg County in July.

On July 2, deputies found the victim lying along Farley Avenue near Adair Street in the Una Sexon community. The female victim told deputies that she had been dropped off at this intersection by four black males in a blue Jeep.

She told deputies that one of the men she knows only by "John John" shot her in the lower back.

Investigators said they were able to identify those involved and issued arrest warrants. On Friday, Travis Wilkins, 28, was arrested on the attempted murder charge along with three drug-related charges.

Wilkins is being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
