The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a Greenville wreck that left one man dead early Saturday morning.
Troopers said the wreck happened just before 5 a.m. on Edwards Road.
Coroner Barry Wright said 28-year-old Randall Bridges was driving in the northbound lane with his girlfriend. Troopers said Bridges hit the back of the vehicle in front of him that was stopped at a light.
Troopers said Bridges' car swiped a utility pole after the crash, causing his fatal injury.
Wright said Bridges was pronounced dead at the scene and died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Wright said Bridges' girlfriend was taken to Greenville Memorial with injuries that were not life-threatening.
