Early Warm Spell then Signs of a Cold Shot

Posted: Updated:

Frost Advisory - Cool Sunday Start:  Long sleeve and jacket conditions will prevail overnight and into early Sunday.  Lows will sink into the 40s across Upstate towns tomorrow morning while conditions get even cooler in Western NC.  A Frost Advisory has been posted for Western NC towns as lows range from 35°-39° at sunrise.

Comfortable Afternoon:  Frost always requires a clear sky and calm winds.  Around 95% of the time, a clear sky is a dead giveaway to quickly warming conditions around here.  Expect a beautiful day on Sunday as temperatures get into the 60s for the Upstate by lunch with Western NC drawing close to 60° around midday.  The middle of the afternoon will be prime weather to be outside as temperatures warm into the low 70s in Upstate/NE Georgia towns with 60s for Western NC towns.

Monday Through Thursday:  Get ready for a really nice set of days!  Sunshine, a west-southwest wind and warm conditions will be the focus as highs reach 75°-79° for Upstate/NE Georgia towns with upper 60s and low 70s in Western NC.  Next week will also be dry.

Signs of a Cold Shot:  Cold, Canadian air looks like a good bet for next Sunday into Monday (the 28th and 29th of October).  This would make some sense based on how dry and pleasant the weather pattern has been recently.  Compared to last year, cold air will be more freely flowing north to south late this fall and into winter.\
