James Jones (Greenwood Co. Jail)
GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Greenwood man was arrested Monday after police said he sent sexually explicit text messages to a 16-year-old boy.
According to an incident report, the boy's father told investigators in September that his son was receiving the messages from 33-year-old James Jones. The messages included a solicitation for oral sex and requests for pictures of the boy's genitalia, according to the report.
Jones was charged with criminal solicitation of a minor.
Gray Stallworth, of the Greenwood YMCA, where Jones worked part-time, said Jones was fired after a parent of the boy told them about the inappropriate text messages.
Stallworth said the safety and well-being of children in the organization's care always have been and always will be a top priority.
