Greenville County deputies said three residents at a group home assaulted a staff member then stole his car, leading to a nightlong manhunt in Newberry County.
Newberry County deputies first reported the manhunt after the car was left along Interstate 26 Saturday night and three men fled from the scene. All three suspects were apprehended.
Greenville County deputies said the incident started about 7:45 p.m. at the home after the three teenage residents assaulted the staff member during their outside recreation time.
Deputies said one of the teens jumped on the victim's back, began choking him while the other two pushed him to the ground. The victim told deputies he lost consciousness as they were rifling through his pockets.
One of the subjects was a juvenile while the other two were identified as Jus-Luis Reyes and Alfred Lee Taylor Jr., both 17 and from Marietta, SC.
Reyes and Taylor were both charged with second degree assault and battery by a mob, grand larceny and strong arm robbery. Both are being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
