Asheville police search for bank robber

Asheville police say this man held up a bank. (Oct. 23, 2012/Asheville Police Dept.)

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police said they are looking for a man who robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon.

The holdup happened at 2:20 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank at 975 Smokey Park Highway.

The man was described as white, 5'10" and medium build. He was last seen wearing sunglasses and a gray, hooded sweatshirt and black, baggy pants.

Witnesses told police the man got into an older-model, olive green, full-size sport utility vehicle and headed east on Smokey Park Highway.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the holdup was asked to call the Asheville Police Department at 828-252-1110.
