GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A Greenville County student was hit by a car while waiting for a school bus Friday morning.
The crash happened about 7:20 a.m. at the Jamestown Apartments on Ridge Road.
Greenville County Schools spokesman Oby Lyles said the Sara Collins Elementary School student, 10, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Greenville Police Media Relations Officer Johnathan Bragg said 49-year-old Jesus Valverde, of Greenville, passed the stopped school bus while the warning lights and sign were activated. He said Valverde was charged with passing a stopped school bus and driving without a license.
Another bus was brought in to take the rest of the students onboard to school.
