SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said Friday that a man has escaped from home detention.

Deputies said 32-year-old Ashley Wrenix had been placed on home detention following his Oct. 10 arrest on charges of kidnapping and criminal domestic violence.

Deputies said Wrenix walked away from a court hearing Friday. They said they tracked him to the Lakeview Manor area of Spartanburg County using GPS. Once there, deputies said they found his tracking device inside a vehicle parked on Thurgood Marshall Road.

Deputies were actively patrolling the area in search of Wrenix. They said he ran before, last spring, when they tried to arrest him.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said Wrenix was physically violent in the case for which he was arrested. They said people should not approach Wrenix. Rather, deputies said anyone who sees him or has any information on his whereabouts should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
