Arrest made in multiple NC armed robberies

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police said an arrest has been made Friday, in at least 10 armed robberies in three states.

Police said 35-year-old Rocky Johnson was arrested in Hickory, NC, and was transported to Asheville to be charged with robbing the First Citizens Bank on Smoky Park Highway on Oct. 23.

Police said Johnson has also been charged with armed robbery and seven counts of second-degree kidnapping for holding up a Bojangles in Oteen on Oct. 25.

Police said 50-year-old William Laws has been charged with aiding and abetting armed robbery for the First Citizens Bank robbery. Police said Laws is currently hospitalized in Hickory and will later be transported to Asheville.

Police said both Johnson and Laws are wanted in connection to several more armed robberies in South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.
