Sandy made landfall around 8PM tonight in southern New Jersey. It is heading toward Pennsylvania and will eventually hook northward. It has become post-tropical, but still packs winds at the level of a category 1 hurricane! Power outages and damage reports are too numerous to list in the northeast, and I know many of us will be praying for and thinking of the residents there tonight.
Winter storm warning continues in the mountains. Snow is falling heavily near the TN border, and is slowly making it south. Reports of 6" of snow in northern Madison county, along with 3-4 inches in other spots along the TN border. 5-8 inches will be common in the mountains, especially from Asheville northward.
Upstate will experience some flurries, but nothing will stick and most areas won't see anything. Wind and cold will be the big stories! Blustery and cold morning with temps in the 30s expected, then low 50s by the end of the day. Wind should die down late day into Tuesday night.
