GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Greenville County deputies said they spent two days making arrests after online escort ads led to a prostitution sting.
On Oct. 25 and 26, deputies said they visited local hotels to identify people using websites to post ads as escorts and those who responded to the ads for the purpose of illegal sexual activity.

Deputies said escort websites are used by some as a cover for prostitution.
During the operation, deputies issued citations to 22 people for various offenses including operating without an escort license, prostitution, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana and other driving violations.
All 22 people were arrested and taken to the Greenville County Detention Center following the operation.
