SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reported two Seneca teenagers were killed when their moped crashed with a pickup truck late Thursday night.

Addis said the collision happened on West Oak Highway at the intersection of Highway 59, near Seneca, around 10:40 p.m.

Troopers said the truck was driving east on Highway 124 when it turned left, hitting the moped that was driving west on 124.

The driver of the moped, Adam Ostrander Jr, 17, died at the scene, according to the coroner. His passenger was identified as Charles'c Skelton. Addis said she died at the Oconee Medical Center less than a hour later.

Addis said neither teenager was wearing a helmet and both sustained multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.

Ostrander was a senior at West-Oak High School, according to Oconee County Superintendent Dr. Mike Lucas. Lucas said counselors will be on hand Friday for students.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
