Nicholas Kostuik (Greenville Police Dept.)
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Police said they were called by car owners who said someone was breaking into cars and when they responded, they found the suspect inside one of the victim's vehicles.
About 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Greenville police officers arrived at the Sterling Pelham Apartments at 230 Pelham Rd. and said they found Nicholas Kostuik, 20, of Greenville, inside a car that was not registered to him.
Police said several witnesses saw Kostuik walking through the parking lot, pulling on car doors and entering ones that were unlocked. Officers said Kostuik gave information of his involvement in the break-ins, and he had property on him that was some of the victims' cars.
Kostuik was arrested and charged with two counts of larceny/breaking into a vehicle.
The Greenville Police Department encourages everyone to make sure vehicles are locked at all times when left unattended, and that there are not any valuables left in the vehicle.
