CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Clemson University announced Friday that classes on Election Day have been canceled.
Although the school will not be closed, Clemson President Jim Barker said he wanted to ensure staff and students have enough time to cast their ballots.
"Tuesday, Nov. 6, is an important day in our nation's life. I urge every eligible voter at Clemson University - faculty, staff and students - to make voting a priority that day," said Barker.
In South Carolina, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
