After a sunny, cool-mild day across our area, we're bracing for dropping temps and pesky light rain for tomorrow. Here's the set-up...
Low pressure will swing south of us tomorrow morning and then ultimately ride up along the east coast. The heaviest rain will fall south of us, plus we have a good amount of dry air in place. This means that some rain/snow will evaporate before it can be felt by us. However, I do think patches of light rain will make it to the ground by Tuesday morning in the Upstate, and a mix of rain/snow will develop in the mountains. It will stay cloudy and breezy all day, with highs not getting out of the 40s in many spots!
A second system will drop in from the northwest late Tuesday into Wednesday, which will keep clouds and a few showers around the Upstate. The mountains will see more widespread showers and mixed precip out of the Wednesday system, but still we aren't expecting a lot. By late Wednesday, we may have about 1-2 inches of snow above 3,500 ft., but most spots won't see accumulations. Roads will be wet, but probably not icy (with the exception of isolated spots in the high mountains).
Weather quiets down Thursday through Sunday! In fact, the weather will be nearly ideal for fall! Highs in the 60s, lows in the 30s! So you'll want to bundle up at night, but enjoy sunshine and mild temps for the afternoons!
