The trial of a man accused of killing a Greenville fast-food restaurant worker nearly six years ago began Monday.
Isaac Bass, 22, was found shot to death outside the Wendy's restaurant on North Pleasantburg Drive in January 2007.
In March 2010, police said that they arrested 21-year-old Korey Love has been charged with murder, attempted armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a pistol by a persons unlawful.
On Monday, the jury heard opening arguments and the first round of testimony at Love's trial.
One of the first witnesses to testify was the manager of the restaurant where Bass was killed.
"When I heard the yell, I went toward the backdoor, thinking it was Isaac trying to get my attention," said Barry Jackson, the manager of the restaurant. "When the gunshot went off, and the paint disappeared from the door, I realized someone was shooting, and that's when I grabbed my phone and called 911."
Testimony was scheduled to continue Tuesday.
Eric Ransom was also charged in connection with Bass' death. He was arrested about five months after Love.
