On Monday, the jury heard opening arguments and the first round of testimony at Love's trial.

One of the first witnesses to testify was the manager of the restaurant where Bass was killed.

"When I heard the yell, I went toward the backdoor, thinking it was Isaac trying to get my attention," said Barry Jackson, the manager of the restaurant. "When the gunshot went off, and the paint disappeared from the door, I realized someone was shooting, and that's when I grabbed my phone and called 911."

Testimony was scheduled to continue Tuesday.

Eric Ransom was also charged in connection with Bass' death. He was arrested about five months after Love.
