GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said they are searching for whomever robbed a bank in the Berea area Wednesday, putting two local schools on lockdown for a short time.

Deputies said the robbery happened at the SunTrust Bank at 55 Farrs Bridge Rd. about 9:20 a.m. and there were three men on the run. They set up a perimeter trying to find the alleged robbers, but said they believe they got away in a vehicle.

Deputies said three unknown men dressed in all dark clothing and ski masks armed with guns entered the bank to demand money. Investigators do not know if they got away with any money.

Deputies said they were seen in a purple or blue small vehicle that was reported stolen in Greenville County on Oct. 22. They said that car has been found. Deputies believe the men abandoned the car then fled in a different black vehicle.

SLIDESHOW: Deputies respond to Berea bank robbery

On Tuesday, deputies said someone robbed the Corner Stone Bank at 45 Farrs Bridge Rd. about 11:15 a.m., which is a few doors down from Wednesday's robbery.

Deputies said an unknown man entered the bank demanding money from one of the tellers, but he did not display or imply a weapon. Investigators said he made it out of the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash without injuring the teller or anyone else.

The suspect was described as a black male with a dark complexion, 40 to 45 years old, 5'10" to 5'11" tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, deputies said.

Deputies said from what witnesses said, the blue/purple vehicle description from Wednesday's robbery seemed to match Tuesday's.

Deputies have not released further information about either robbery.

A spokeswoman for the Greenville County School District said Berea Elementary School and Berea High School were on lockdowns, which have since been lifted.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
