A York man was arrested in Spartanburg County and returned to York County where authorities said he was wanted in connection with the death of a man found near Clover.

Authorities in York County said they were called to a shooting at around 3 a.m. Tuesday where they found 22-year-old Travis Koin suffering from a gunshot wound.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said Koin was pronounced dead an hour later at a hospital.

Early Wednesday, authorities arrested 21-year-old Kevin Michael Eades in Spartanburg County and charged him with murder. Authorities said Eades has an extensive criminal history that includes convictions for assault and battery, drug possession, burglary and criminal domestic violence.

According to a Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office report, they were notified that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had tracked Eades' cell phone to the Woodruff area. The report said the Spartanburg County SWAT team was called in where they arrested him walking near the Hot Spot store at Steelhouse Road and Highway 221.

Eades was taken back to the York County jail, where he was being held. It wasn't known if Eades had an attorney.
