GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville woman died Tuesday after she was hit by a vehicle while raking leaves in her yard.

The crash happened near the corner of Forest Circle near Crest Street.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said the victim, 77-year-old Christine Domina, was with her husband in their yard, raking leaves. He said a car coming around a curve lost control and hit her before crashing into a tree.

Dill told FOX Carolina Domina died a short time later at Greenville Memorial Hospital from blunt force trauma to the head.

"It was just a tragic accident," Dill said. "You don't expect that to happen when you are in your yard, especially on a street that's not a real heavily traveled street. You just don't expect this sort of thing to happen."

Relatives said Domina died working with her husband and that she was loved.

"They were working together," said Susan Ryea, a relative. "That's what they enjoyed doing was working together whether it was rebuilding a home, which they've done several."

Relatives said they were told by the Highway Patrol that charges are possible in the case.
