COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The Gamecocks' team physician said University of South Carolina junior running back Marcus Lattimore's surgery was a success.
Lattimore had surgery on Friday Nov. 2 to repair several ligaments in his right knee by a team of physicians in Birmingham, AL.
Lattimore was injured during the Gamecocks' 38-31 win over Tennessee on Oct. 27. Doctors said the impact his knee took resulted in injury to several ligaments and there were no fractures or additional injuries.
Doctors said there are no plans for further surgery and Lattimore is back in Columbia recovering and has already begun rehabilitation.
The school will honor Lattimore at Saturday's home game against Arkansas when the a new ramp sign recognizing his school record 38 rushing touchdowns will be unveiled at Williams-Brice Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon.
