SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A well-known childhood star will be hitting the theater stage this weekend here in the Upstate.

Famous sitcom actress Bern'Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma in the hit 70s sitcom Good Times, will be starring in a national stage play called Fed Up.

Stanis said the play will center around a woman being in an abusive relationship. It's a message she hopes hit home for many people who come out this weekend to see it.

"Take care of yourself is so important. Abuse comes in a lot of different forms and doesn't necessarily come in the obvious but the obvious is there," she said.

The show will be showing Saturday night only at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium at 8.
