The game time has been set for the annual Palmetto State Showdown when the University of South Carolina travels to Clemson University on Nov. 24.
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 7 p.m. game time on Monday following both the Gamecocks and Tigers wins on Saturday. The game will air on either ESPN or ESPN 2.
The historic rivalry pits the Gamecocks (8-2) vs. the Tigers (9-1), both ranked in the BCS Top 20 standings. Both South Carolina and Clemson had home wins on Saturday, with the Gamecocks beating Arkansas 38-20 at home on Saturday while Clemson defeated Maryland 45-10.
South Carolina has defeated Clemson the past three years, though the Tigers lead the series 65-40-4. In 2011, the Gamecocks won 34-13. Clemson's home record against South Carolina is 16-9-1. The last time the Gamecocks won four-straight against Clemson was from 1951 to 1954, which is also their longest winning streak in the series.
The Clemson-Carolina rivalry pits fans, family members and even the head coaches against each other across the state.
Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney and South Carolina Head Coach Steve Spurrier have received a lot of attention for verbal sparring matches in the past and most recently after Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore was injured.
