Public hearing will discuss I-85, I-385 plans

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Drivers wanting to see plans and share input on a major Greenville County interstate improvement plan will have the chance Thursday.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will have a public hearing at 5 p.m. to discuss the preliminary plans for the proposed interchange at interstates 85 and 385.

The hearing is scheduled to last till 7 p.m. and is being held at Beck Academy at 901 Woodruff Rd. in Greenville.

Attendees will get the chance to review and discuss the plans with SCDOT officials, including the reconfiguration and improvement of the interchange at I-85 and I-385 and share with officials ideas on historic or cultural resources in the area.

Starting at 6 p.m., SCDOT officials will make a short, formal presentation of the project's purpose, needs, schedule and potential impact on the community. Anyone who wants to comment must sign up between 5 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. and then will have two minutes to speak after the presentation.
